It is good practice for children to learn about a range of different faiths and cultures, especially focusing on those celebrated by the children and staff attending the setting. As there is a large Jewish population in the UK I expect Jewish New Year will be relevant to many nurseries.
Incidentally it is not down to Ofsted to set the curriculum, they are the body that regulates quality.
