Parent text service
Parent text service

Whilst the weather has been bad my child's school have been communicating school closures by text.
Is this something that you would use in your nursery setting?
I quite like the idea but I am working out the demand over the year as I am not sure the attraction is how easy it would have been to tell parents what our day to day status was this particular week. i wouldn't want to sign up for a service that we wouldn't use as I'm sure everyone will agree money isn't to be wasted in a private nursery.

We communicated this week by emails. We send out monthly email newsletters to our parents and all parents are signed up to it. We updated them via that and our Facebook page which most are signed up to as well. I think Text is a really good idea too. May look into it also. Let me know what providers you use.

I love getting texts from my child's school. They even txt me when he's not in to tell me he's not (and to remind me to tell them why not!) I only have 30 children in my pre-school so I am able to connect my phone to my pc and send one message to all. I have unlimited txts so it doesn't cost any extra.

Cool....
In this age of e-mail / mobile texting etc, We should embrase these media's. The only issue with sending TXT's to parents, Is the cost, You know the message will get there and quick , So go with the flow.
