Creche Facilities

Creche Facilities

As a fully registered Daycare setting what are the guidelines for offering creche facilities to plug our gaps?  Are there any??

I was thinking of a book in advance and drop in for Saturdays but also to offer weekdays as a 'ring and see'.  I know the weekdays may be a non-starter but we are very close to the town centre so there may be a chance, I am aiming more for the weekend trade with something that I have just read on another forum of opening saturday and sunday all November and upto Christmas.

Would I need to re-register with Ofsted or other bodies to extend to this service or am I covered under my existing full day care registration?

I can't see staffing being an issue as many of our existing staff already 'babysit' at weekends for our parents each week and so are willing to work.  And of course our hourly rates will be less than what the parents are paying already but with the income we could generate the staff are likely to receive the same per day rate.

You would need to inform ofsted of the variation but they wouldnt issue a new certificate. You would also need to be on the Voluntary Childcare Register I believe.
