Struggling with Uni work!

Struggling with Uni work!

by: Naomi Chappell - 20-02-10 16:01

Hi everyone

I am currently studying a first year degree in Early Childhood Studies, I am doing a piece of work about Piaget. I have to write about people who agreed and disagreed with his work. I've found plenty of people who disagree but I am struggling to find people who agree! If you could just suggest some names or whatever that would be fantastic.

Thanks, Naomi

I know how you're feeling Naomi (i'm struggling on a different level!) I'd check through with Tina Bruce, she's had an opinion on all his types of work, along with theories that contrast his? There's a tone of publications out there of hers with mixes of theories.

Hope this helps,

Chelle

Hi Naomi

I think you'll find that a few writers (including me) are building on some of Piaget's work. I don't necessarily agree with everything he said but his major theory of 'constructivism' is a very sound way of understanding how children learn. I have followed in the footsteps of Chris Athey, Tina Bruce, John Matthews, Cathy Nutbrown and others in identifying children's schemas or repeated patterns.

Hope this helps
