Hi
i want to know what people would call ambulances for in nurserys.
Obviously things such a fits, serious head injuries etc
but would you call an ambulance for chocking etc ..
Im intrested to no what people would do due to a discussion i had with work collegues

It depends on how serious the choking was. Whether or not the child lost consiousness.

Erm very mixed views. I personally would if i couldnt dislodge the item that was chocking the child.
There always helpful for extra advice too.
I have first aid training but becausr of the mixed views makes you doubt yourself

A choking child (or adult) with an obstructed airway is an emergency and an ambulance should be called. if you don't then they will die. What's to debate in that scenario?
If the item has been dislodged then I wouldn't call an ambulance, unless the item caused bleeding or obvious damage but would monitor the child for the rest of the seassion.
