Wondered if anyone had any examples of what they have put into their learning journeys to download to give some ideas on layout and what should be in there.

In our learning journeys we put 3 or 4 pictures of the child in the learning journey, the observation, links to the EYFS (what areas the child has touched on and the heading of the section EG PSED - Self Care - then the development matters) Then at the bottom we write the childs next steps and what we can do to provide them with the oppurtunity (eg) Sam has shown an interest in textures and likes to explore different ones so for his next step i will provide a range of treasure baskets for sam to explore at his own pace, this in turn will build up sams confidence etc etc you get the picture. Hope this helps! :)

My learning journeys start with the child's starting points... then they are a combination of observations (with or without photos), assessments and links to the Eyfs, individual planning notes, information from parents and other settings and evaluations every 6 months or so.
Hope this helps! Sarah

i am so excited, we have just ditched our old development profiles in favour of using learning journeys instead, altho we are STILL waiting for our scrap books!!! however i am slightly concerned that we may fall into a habit of only refering obs, pics, photos ect to the learning and development section and not paying enough attention to bigger picture ie;the rest of the early years principals of practice.how can we show that we are considering All areas of the eyfs? any ideas... i really hope this post makes sense!
