we have an indoor herd garden, which the children can plant, look after, harvest and the use the herbs in cokking activities. We also have plant pots outside the front door, which can be brought in every so often to maintain. A spidery/womery etc where children can still look for and explore different mini beasts. thats a few ideas. Must be very difficult todo, we live outside. good luck

Hello, Yes I am going to be doing a herb garden in a couple of weeks, however we are first floor in a community building so can nto put things outside to bring in. I am looking at a wormery and having frogs too in the setting. Just so hard to bring the outside in and extend learning outdoors.

It must be very hard to do that, with all the emphasis very much on bringing the inside out. Research has shown that children learn better being outside, especially boys. Do your children not get cabin fever beibg cooped up all the time?
Is there no way that you can look at relocating?

I would have an actual 'outdoor' area - with things such as tree stumps, logs, mini green house, a board with outdoor things stuck on to it as you cant stick to walls im presuming with it being community building - so a large notice board with leaves on, bark, pine cones, etc, also tuff spots with soil in are great kids seem to love muck!!
Plus try have some large free space - outdoor areas are great for developing gross motor skills and space awreness and obviously with the lack of it these development areas need promoting indoors which is hard when you have furniture! If you could section a space for ride ons, slide and free fast rouh play, large mats etc that would help.
Good luck :)
