I NEED ADVISE FROM NURSERY LEADERS!!!

I NEED ADVISE FROM NURSERY LEADERS!!!

by: Samira Amri-Campoy - 03-09-10 10:09

Hello there,

My story:

I've been working in Out of School Services since 2006. I soon in 2007 got promoted to Team Leader and that's what I've been doing since then.

My qualifications are an Honours Degreein Psychology, that i finished in my country (Spain 2000)before coming to the UK and an SVQ Level 3 in Play Work (Edinburgh 2008). I have loads of training courses too.

Now I find myself in a difficult position, I need another qualification to keep with my Leadership jobs but I want to move into the early years field too.

What is the best for me to do? I am currently looking for a job in a Nursery (I have some experience of working in Nurseries back in 2006) to get the feeling and routine of work in these business but I want to study something that can allow me lead or manage a team in the Nursery.

I would appreciate if anyone could help me as I have been trying to get in touch with teachers at Universities and Colleges and they haven't been great help!

Thank you all so much!!

Sami

I would look seriously at becoming an early years teacher.  You will get more responsiblity, better pay and a wider choice of jobs.  If your degree is recognised in Britain then you could do a PGCE which will only take around 10 months.  You would need also to have G.C.S.E. or equivalent in maths, english and a science.
