Schemas

Hi, I am doing my dissertation in Schemas and whether the environment can influence. Does anyone plan for schemas and would they share planning sheets? Also how to parents engage and are they interested. If anyone has come across any interesting journals. I have looked at Athey, Nutbrown, Arnold and Meade. Any help would be gratefully recieved.

Staff from Pen Green Nursery, Corby, wrote a fantastic six part series for Nursery World recently on schemas. It explains how they plan around observations and also work with parents to support the children's schemas. The series started on 16 Sept 2009, followed by 15 Oct, 18 Nov, 16 Dec, 21 Jan 2010 and 18 Feb.
I hope it's of help!

I had a child in my class who was so obviously in a schema. His mum actually contacted Cathy Nutbrown via the internet (she searched google scholar for a contact e.mail) and Cathy Nutbrown contacted her back with real interest!!!!!!! So, I suggest you go STRAIGHT TO THE TOP!!!
Good luck, they are facinating.

Sparkie,
Don't forget that a 'schema' is actually a blueprint for everything we do, it is not just a buzz word. Therefore, the environment is of massive consequence.

sorry that was posted twice, a delay in my pc function. I wanted to say that the designation 'schemas' is wrong. It is referred to as 'schemata'
