Thank you Tink for your reply. Some of my children are only just 2 and a lot of them have very little language. We also have 2 children with autism so we need to fit around those children too. Today for instance approximately half children were fine with the routine/structure as they were mainly the older ones but the other half just aren't mature enough to deal with it and I think its wrong to insist they follow suit just because thats the way it is.

I think the understanding for children aged 2 is quite different from a 2.5yr old even though its only 6mths difference. A 2yr old is still very babyish in their ways and I feel we are trying to push them into conforming to rules and regulations far too early. They will have plenty of time for structure once they start school.

They move up to the next room when they turn 3 so they have plenty of time to "prepare" for school in the next room.
