Sorry clicked before adding post !!
Just wondered if any settings without a green area outdoors has got an outstanding ofsted grade ? All the settings graded outstanding in my local area (Preston, Lancashire) have large outdoor green areas usually with a forest school.
We are currently developing our small outdoor tarmaced area in a built up inner city deprivation area and aiming for an outstanding grade at our next inspection. We would love to hear about other similar settings who have achieved this grade without a green space as this is not possible in our setting other than a few plant pots !!

I was told many moons ago to access local parks when a green outdoors was not possible. However I was also told that plant pots would also suffice. It's not an avenue I've explored as we are lucky with having a large grassed area with growing opportunities.

It's not the size , it's what you do with it that matters :)

Thanks. We are hoping to establish a vegetable area, herb bed and seasonal planting area along side other outdoor resources whilst still keeping the area open ended. This will also be based upon the children's experiences and show the children and families what can be achieved in a small area.
