training rooms in setting

Does anyone have rooms in their setting that are hired out as training rooms when not in use, I.e. afterschool rooms when children are at school?

yes we hire out our rooms to a first aid trainer once a month or so. I then get all my first aid training for free!

We have 2 rooms available and have just been approached by a charity to run parenting classes with onsite childcare. It is something that we have considered doing with the rooms anyway and our insurance already covers us for this use, but I was wondering what else needs to be done? Do Ofsted need to be informed if the room was being used for parents of children in the building or parent and child classes with child staying with parent? And then, what are the requirements with Ofsted if we wanted to offer the rooms as training and meeting rooms (for related subjects not just allowing access to anyone) I have assessed the work the needs to be done with regards to security and preventing access to the children and also with regards to welfare facilities my only query is the Ofsted side of things. Can you advise?
We also started a creche for the local children's centre this week so had children that are not normally registered with us. We also did a 'fun day' on Halloween and had children we don't normally have (and a few parents too) and we never informed Ofsted of this. My understanding is that they are only interested in the registered children, their space and child:staff ratios. It sounds like you are able to seperate your meeting rooms from the rest of the setting (we too have a meeting room that we have CIN and CAF meetings in) so I don't think it is anything to do with Ofsted.
You may need to check with your landlord tho! Mine is happy for my to sub let rooms.

My landlord is happy with this (it'll help me pay the bills!) I did kind of broach the subject with a compliance inspector and she reminded me that the children would be still under ourvratios. I think my worry is that donofsted class it as the buikding is being used for another purpose, but do they mean by another company/organisation using the same building independent. I dont want to tempt fatevas we are due inspection.

I have been thinking about this too, we have an awful lot of rooms that are simply used as storage. Incidentally, the problem with having too much storage space (and this applies to the home environment too) is that the more space you have - the more junk you seem to collect :)
