Being able to answer their own interview questions?l
by: mel
I think you misunderstood the question! I have 2 deputy managers who are very different in practice and some aspects not always for the good of the team, hence the question!!

Same here Mel.....
Ability to know what I am thinking (joking)
Awareness of their own role
Assertive without agressive
Confidence
Communication skills
Employer skills (health and safety, employee rights etc)
Ability to write and discuss at a higher level (might have to step in as Manager if you are off)
Child development knowledge
Time management
Lots more.......
Hopefully between the 2 you will tick the boxes :-) just remember they are not you.

The poster 'me' meant that a deputy must be able to answer the questions she would expect to be answered by potential employees. I think she might be implying that not all deputies practice what they preach, are as well informed as should befit their status etc....

Meaning what they say but not being mean when they say it!
In any job I think its hard to remain focused and fresh all of the time, non the less when working with children, so you have to have an appeal with children that the staff can see as well.

Its old but had to post....
@me judging from your posts on the last few threads. Your being neither constructive nor helpful....if you've not got anything good to say don't say anything at all :(
@sophie me meant nothing of the sort. me meant that mel was posting a question to get herself through an interview....you can tell be the other unhelpful posts me has put on :(
A good deputy leads the team by example, never criticises there colleagues but offers constructive advice to help them progress in their practice, deals with issues as soon as they arise, liases with their manager at all times, feeding back on the practice they are observing, as they are seeing the practice in the setting day in day out.......

Thank you very much x-mardimoo-x for your comments spot on :0)
