3 or 4 years??

3 or 4 years??

by: raramoo - 08-01-13 21:59

All this talk of Ofsted gets the old heartbeat going.

Is the inspection cycle 3 or 4 years? We have worked towards 3 years with our ey advisor telling us that providers are being inspected early but then reading the last 2 threads you have bith been 4 years. I believe that providers with concerns are being brought forward now we have 3 complaints made by our local authority in the last 2 years and all 3 were not published as no evidence found to back up their complaint so I'm foolishly thinking that we wont have any concerns, the last complaint was under the new regime and therefore could have triggered inspection so that was perfect opportunity?!?!

I've just been looking at some in our area that are 6 years since last visit! Everything is so inconsistent!

We will be at 4 1/2 years come March at one of our settings and getting a bit annoyed with the wait! Now we are into the new 5 year inspection cycle I thought we would be one of the first as we were one of the first under the EYFS back in 2008.

Highly unlikely I know but if they waited till the end of this inspection cycle to inspect us it does give the potential of 9 years between inspection! I do like that idea :-p

I would have thought that although they are targeting satisfactory settings it seems, that they would do the longest first.

Another of our settings was inspected last week. Just over four years (by about a month) and orginally graded Outstanding. There is no logic to what they say and what they do!

We had our first inspection in July and got Satisfactory. Not a problem, we are still drawing in parents. Funding issues now sorted as our LEA have their own rating and I am an EYP. However, was told by LEA before Xmas to expect another inspection soon as I only achieved satisfactory!! Why??
