We were advised by Early Years to send 1 staff member who would need to come back and hold an In House Training Course to deliver the 'Safer Food' Guide which is covered in Level 2 Food Safety.
We ended up sending 2 and then both staff really enjoyed devising a course complete with Quiz at the end.
We have been Ofsted 2 weeks ago and Ofsted were more than happy with this.
Have a good look around too as ours cost £50.00 but some companies were aware of this new push from Nurseries and were trying to charge £70-90

the revised EYFS requires all staff who handle food to be trained in food safety
under Food safety law, anyone who handles food must be trained commensurate with their responsibilities
we provide training for many settings - some opt for the QCF level 2, some opt for our food safety for childcare
don't forget - OFSTED are not the only ones overseeing food safety- your local EHO will also ask questions about training so you need to satisfy both criteria

We've just used the on-line course available through NDNA for all our nursery staff - it's with The Safer Food Group and costs £8 for members and £12 for non members. It's a Level 2 and everyone thought it was really good, with lots of video clips rather than just reading. Took 2-3 hours per person.
