Has anyone tried the Orbit Iphone app? It says it has been out for 4 months but only just spotted it. Enables you to take photos and observatons and automatically upload to website for sharing with parents

Hi There,
We haven't as we aren't allowed mobile phones in the classrooms for safety and security. We are using another system called the ILD
www.interactivelearningdiary.co.uk
It's great and very secure. Photos transfer immediately from your digital camera to your laptop or tablet and you just drag and drop them straigtht into your observations. Time saving for us and more time spent with the children.

There is another on called 2simple early years and it is amazing can be used on an iPad or iPod or iPhone.
Links to eyfs, pictures and a web suite to email parents with a well laid out report. Space for next steps and can be broken down to key children groups.
worth a look

I've only just discovered Orbit Early Years and like the sound of it very much. It can be used on a PC as well as an ipad or iphone and it is free, unlike the other apps. What I like most though is the fact that by also using the Orbit Family app, parents can send 'postcards' of their children's achievements/wow moments from home, and all of this can be shared with other settings children may attend (assuming they also use Orbit EY). Definitely worth a look I would say.

Not sure if you are familiar with the eyfs forum at http://eyfs.info/ they have just launched their own online learning journal called Tapestry.
It is brilliant, reasonably priced and the staff and parents love it!
