i am currently finishing my foundation degree and wish to follow it with the EYPS whilst topping up by degree. i can only find this university near me in the north west area that runs this course, does anyone know what the uni is like, or does anyone have any thoughts on this course. anything u can say would be really appreciated. at the minute i'm doing th eFD at Burnley college through UCLAN and whilst the later is ok the college and teachers are crap so this is my dilema, whether to do the eyps at edgehill or the BA at burnley.
help please

I'm on the foundation degree too but i'm doing mine though Preston College / Uclan. I've heard really good things about the EYPS provision at Edgehill.
The teacher based at Burnley Wood Childrens Centre gained hers through Bradford I think and she was really disapointed with the whole set up, but this was very soon after the status was introduced. She told me (a few years ago now) that if she was to do it again she'd choose Edge Hill.
However...
I've thought hard about my own options and concluded that i would be better off completing the full degree and then following the 3 month pathway to EYPS. Gives you wider options later if the Status falls out of favour. The principle issue this way though is funding, but i'd think you could do your third year via more local colleges. I know Burnley's 'teaching reputation' is well deserved from my own dealings with them in the past. Have you checked with Accrington, Blackburn etc?

i have to disagree about burnley's teaching, well for the course i have been doin, my fellow students feel that we have not been taught or supported to finish this course. we have been a small group from the start but when we split up in the final year we ended up with 4 in a class and 5 in the other taking a different pathway, we have found that when asking advice we were given inadequate or none, a lot of our classes are cancelled and teachers are hard to get hold.
i was thinking that preston would be a good option to do the ba and then go the edge hill to do EYPS. how has your experience been there???
