During this time I have learned many skills including;

Many years ago when i was on a short listing panel for a Nursery assistant. I found an application form from a young girl from Wales who stated that she had looked after her younger brothers and the lambs on the farm where she lived and thought it would be good fun to work in a babyroom!

I interviewed someone today who was trying to tell me she should do the level 3 becuase she has done a baby massage course and therefore knew about development. I refuse to take any learner on my 3 without a 2 becuase children deserve pracs with in depth foundation knowledge. it happens daily.

Everyone should do the 2 first!

I have interviewed people who want to 'either do hair and beauty or childcare, which do you think miss?' hair and beauty i answer.

i interviewed someone last year who had talons and when i told her shed have to cut them she waved them in my face and said'these are my life f**k your course' no loss to childcare.

the best was a woman who had 7 children knew all there was to know, according to her, about kids and then proceeded to tell me about the little darlings in graphic sweary detail eso about the 3 that were in care cos they were 'such sh**s'

i love my job
