Best degree for working in early years?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the best degree to study for in the early years setting is?

I'm currently studying for my Level 3 and I would like to study for a degree a year or so after finishing.

I was thinking about doing a degree through the open university, but I'm not sure if this is the best option for me, or if they do the most recognisable degrees for the early years sector.

i think the best thing you can do is work and get experience. no degree is better.

Early Childhood Studies degree, it goes into more theoretical detail. You become more critical in how you see practice and you have deeper understanding of child development. I have just completed my Masters degree in Childhood Studies and its the best thing i ever did!

Thank you! I was thinking about that degree but I didn't know too much about it, thought its best to ask people that have done the course and have more experience than me.

Thank you very much for your help.

Ultimately we want a highly skilled workforce...so 'me' what a stupid thing to say!

I would agree with Chrissie, Early Childhood studies is the best degree to do. I did it and it has helped me greatly with my career. Chrissie- where did you do your masters?

you will never look at children in the same way again after doing that degree- GO FOR IT!
