Hi Mel, we have sand and water both indoors and outdoors! However we only have 1 at a time indoors but both outdoors x

Both outside but just sand or water inside. Not enough room inside.

We have both inside & out. Although during the colder months we would probably limit water play to small brushes & pots outdoors. Whereas at the moment it is long rows of plastic guttering at various levels, watering cans, large tubs, buckets, brushes, sponges, bottles etc...!

We have both inside and out, although i often use water in shallow trays inside with glass pebbles and little pots and scoops or bubbles in or for washing the dollies. Or you can put sand in one tray and water in the other and mix together for sand dripping-great fun.

We are lucky enough to have an outside area.  Sand and water generally stay outside when the weather is warm.  We do have some sand and water inside during the winter months but not often enough.

i am currently updated our room and was wondering what people thought of putting the sand in the construction area on a mat or tray with small world objects, as we are limted on space and want sand and water out throughout the day

We regulary put out sand in a large tray, all sorts of things go in it, dinosaurs, cars, treasure (glass nuggets), funnels & pots etc. Wet sand is put in small trays for mark making with sticks or rollers, tractors anything that makes interesting marks. We also spread sand on a large plastic mat with construction vehicles & wooden blocks. Anything that is washable & won't be spoiled by the sand can go in. Washing things that have been used in the sand is another activity.
