Ive recently been informed that I cant go any further on my course until ive completed a gcse maths course. Does anyone know if it has to be gcse or can it be an equivalent stressing out x

Whatever course you are doing your course provider should be testing you on maths and english. Both at college and with private course provider my girls had to pass basic tests but not at GCSE level. For a primary teacher it will be required however. You can do it along side your qualification as far as I am aware I know of a teaching assistant who did a short pathway to teaching who did this.
