Hi everyone,
I work in the 1 and a half to 2 and a half room in my nursery and im looking for a few ideas...
Our topic for the next few weeks is FAMILY, as we have lots of our children having brothers and sisters.
I was in the messy area last week, and I could come up with a million ideas to do (messy seems to be my strongest area), this week I am on puzzle and outdoors and my brain is drawing a blank...any one got any ideas for activities based around family for this area in my room?
Thanks everyone xxx

Perhaps a focus on babies would be useful if they are expecting siblings. The outside could have a home corner set up woth some dolls, nappies, changing mats, plastic bath, towels, etc so they can pretend to look after the babies.

Also, dolls in buggies and prams. How about a little 'house' in a tent where they could play families (if they chose to). Books about families outdoors in a cosy area. Relate to the 3 bears - indoors/outdoors role play. Create your own 'family tree' by hanging laminated photos of the children's family members on a tree or cut off branch (try to ensure it is where the children can see the pictures). This should promote lots of conversation. Hope this gives you some ideas.

Thank you everyone for all your help :-D
Got the children to make family trees with their families and they look fantastic.
Think this week I'm either in the curiosity area or the carpet area and my mind is buzzing with ideas :-)
