Does anybody have a mentoring or buddy system in place in their setting?
Really want to get this set up as soon as possible, I think its just what we need to move practice forward as there are a few inexperienced staff and it gives a good solid grounding as to what is expected of the more experienced staff and how they can help each other.

I was a mentor in a setting I previously worked in, I mentored apprentice staff and helped them as much as I could, the hardest thing was both getting time out to talk as we worked within the same room x

I did mentoring as part of the eyps course I did and in my current workplace. I'm now co-ordinating the students and volunteer placements so that gradually the other staff will take on a mentoring support role.
As a team we've developed a student/volunteer handbook of what we thought would be useful for the student/volunteers to know.
As Jellytot said the hardest part is ensuring that you have time to talk with the buddy/mentee.
