Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend an online system where you can basically do all your observations and planning online? I'm thinking of buying a couple of ipads for our nursery (possible issues when people want to use at once, I realise...), so that we can take photos and then easily upload them to each child's individual profile online. On a digital camera I find people never get round to printing the photos, nor putting them in the child's Learning Journal, and also often forget what was happening at the time! I also want a system where parents can log in and look up their child's profile online, thereby making it easy for them to look at their Learning Journal at a convenient time to them. 

Does anyone know of anything like this?!

HI,

If you google software for nurseries, you will find a few companies that you can get information.

Ipads are expensive but if you have the money in your budget, then go for it. When I worked for one nursery, we had an extra person who was pulled out of the room and would spend a few hours downloading pictures for each nursery nurse and then putting them into folders.

I have one called 2 Simple Early Years on my Ipad, although I prefer the good old fashioned paper method! My staff are not encouraged to record anything electronically. All photos are kept on 1 pc (mine!) and all records are kept in folders.
