Is it really too much to ask to work in a nursery where the other staff actually want to be there???!! I mean really?!
Rant over thanks

poor you I feel really sad for you. I manage a setting and know that the staff really love working with the children, I cannot say we always have a fantastic working week but no matter what our problems are work load wise seeing the childrens happy faces always makes the pressure worth while I hope you find a happy setting soon x

I can hold up my hands and say I have experienced this in my own setting - and it was all to do with the Manager. She must have had indepth instruction on how to demotivate staff (my fault for hiring her.) New Manager now - new atmosphere! It is unbelievable the difference that one individual can make :)

some nursery staff, That don't wish to be there, Then get them out, Mind you as you know the pay is'nt good, But never the less, Thats not the point

If only it where that easy Mickey! It always appears that one member of staff who makes everyones life hell also knows how to not end up on a disciplinary! One particular member of staff in my setting could turn milk!

Managed to lose a few who I mistakenly thought they had the nursery interests at heart. Cottoned on that something wasn't right when the atmosphere was changing for the worse. Realised just in time what was happening and managed to sort things out. Let your guard down for a second and they'll take everything they can :( Worse thing is the impact it has on parents and children as it changes their behaviour and attitudes.
Needless to say the nursery is now back to happy with no ill effects and an increase in business.
