monitoring tools

Hi, was wondering if any settings use a monitoring tool to indicate how children are progressing and how groups of children are progressng throughout the time they are with you. I know progress matters was rolled out in our LA a few years back but I found it very difficult to use and I could only get it to store 50 children. I know PRAMS was avaliable if you were subscribed to FSF.
I would be interested to know if others are being used, how much they cost, and whether you all use them or not.
Thanks

We used to use progress matters before it run out. Iproduced lovely tables year after year and no-one ever wanted to see them! We simply record what age band they are on for each section of the 7 areas and you can get a very good picture of how children are progessing each term.

Thanks for that Kaz, I just wondered if with the new Ofsted inspections they would prefer to see this is a clear manner, were expecting them beginning of next year and I furiously looking through the guidance but can't decide whether its worth it
