Hi

I have always felt with a disatation that you either choose something you know about as it makes it easier to write about or you choose something you know very little about and want to research to gain more knowledge.

I'm a qualified hospital play specialist so I probably look at it from a different angle, but what about "Multi professional working to support a nursery child with special needs".  You could discuss how you could work with and liaise with a wide range of professionls to best ensure the child could progress and achieve.

I'm thinking of professionals such as speech & language therapists, physios if the child has physical problems, if the child goes to hospital for opperations liaisae with the hospital play specialist, community nurses if the child needs medical support etc

Maybe it would help you to think about how you can best suopport any child with special needs of any kind.  It would also show your knowledge of individual children their individual special needs and how you can support them as an early years worker.

Sorry hope i haven't written too much. x

Hi I am currently in yr 3 of an EY degree & beginning to work on my project. I believe it is best to find something you know well, my tutor is keen on the KISS principle (keep it simple, stupid) & I'm inclined to agree. Other people's ideas won't fit what you know. Good luck.

You could try something on outdoor play, that's very topical at the moment. There's a lot of information around for background reading. Most importantly though it must be something interseting and inspiring for you. Is there something that would help your current or future career? Or something that has interested you in the past or influenced your own childhood?

A good book to read is "Doing Your Early Years Research Project" by Guy Roberts-Holmes (available on Amazon). It takes you step by step through the research/dissertation process and has some good case studies of how other students have chosen their topics. Good Luck and let us know what you choose!

Try learning through landscapes. The research tab has some free downloads and links to other sites. http://www.ltl.org.uk/

Hi,

Im really struggling with my dissertation subject. Im thinking of doing it around the positive impact of early reading. Does anybody have any suggestions or help they could give me?

What part of childcare are you most interested in? I could understand somebody not being able to choose between several different topics, but how can you not think of anything?
