I did the foundation degree one day a week over 2 years. We had to be working for 30 hours a week on top of that. I was a childminder while I did mine so you definitely don't have to be in nursery. We had people from day nurseries, pre-schools, primary schools, a nanny and a speach and language therapist.
I think as long as you are in a child care or education setting you can do it.
