Hello,
Im a CNN and as far as im aware you need to be level 3 or above and have experience working with children and some areas even prefer you to have community experience aswell. You need to have knowledge of child development, child protection issues and health needs.
My Job involves working along the side the health visitors within a NHS health centre, I run child weighing clinics, infant massage classes, baby groups (promoting health, weaning, play etc) I also do developmental checks and go on many home vists, either weighing new borns, or giving support to parents on many issues such as sleep, behaviour, eating, toilet training etc.
I also do listening support for post natal depression.
Its a very intresting job which i really enjoy, but they are hard to come by and competition is always high
Good luck hope this helps!!
